The Depression impacted the people in many different ways psychologically and physically. It caused huge amounts of stress on people; some people even committed suicide after they lost everything in the stock market. It taught the youth of America that they would have to dedicate themselves to hard work to progress in life come hell or high water, they would keep working hard. It also made many people a lot more conservative. I had a grandpa and a great grandma that was alive at the time of the great depression and they would keep every little scrap of anything that might be useful. My great grandmother had jars of old buttons and thread, and my grandpa would keep every odd nail he would pull out of a piece of wood.
